Gov. John Bel Edwards Proclaims April 24-28 Coastal Industry Week |

On Monday, April 24th, Gov. John Bel Edwards and CPRA Board Chairman Chip Kline addressed policy makers, industry leaders, and coastal activists about the past successes and promising future of coastal community resilience in Louisiana. They heralded the 2023 Coastal Mater plan as the most expansive and comprehensive plan that CPRA has ever produced, calling for 77 project across the gulf coast of Louisiana that are supported by $50 Billion in local investments. Kline boasted that the level of investment outlined in master plan will mean that in 50 years, Louisiana will have less flood risk from hurricane and tropical storms than it does today. Our featured guests, Able Thompson of Together Louisiana and Matt Candler of Together New Orleans gave a compelling presentation showcasing the Community Lighthouse Project, Together New Orleans' vision to build the nation's largest network of solar + storage resilience hubs at churches and community centers across south Louisiana.
